GRIB (Gridded Binary) Weather Charts

Grib files are 'raw' weather charts produced by computer with no modification by forecasters.  They are available worldwide, the most common source is  http://www.grib.us/

Follow the instructions to register and logon free.  You will need to download the grib viewing software.

You can select an area to download, up to 7 days ahead, save required forecast areas and scroll forward or back at 3 hour intervals.  The charts show isobars, wind speed, and rainfall.  They can be overlaid on chart plotting software such as Seapro.  They form a very useful addition to synoptic charts and other weather forecasting sites
